A successful Retail Leadership and Management role for over 37 years has led me to a rewarding Professional Coaching, teaching and travel career!
Twenty-five years experience with the T. Eaton Company in numerous leadership roles in BC and Alberta allowed me to develop the Retail, Financial and Human Resource skills to support management and employee teams in their unique roles and to ensure a fun, learning environment while providing excellence in customer service.
In 1998, as part of a team of professionals, I opened a new Mountain Equipment Co-op Retail Store in Edmonton, Alberta. In my role as Store Manager and Leader of numerous key projects, we experienced success and many profitable years at MEC. Implementing and managing change, and coaching a strong team was important to me while engaging knowledgeable, focused and skilled staff in the business in addition to finding a balanced lifestyle.
While adding to my leadership skills, in 2009 I completed a Coaching program with CTI – The Coaches Training Institute, who are known to be the Harvard of Coaching schools (www.thecoaches.com). I have found coaching to be one of the most rewarding activities and seen the benefit for my clients in discovering their true passions and learn how to find fulfillment at home and at work! In engaging my own Coach, I have personally benefited from the coaching relationship that helped me be a better leader and to make some very positive career decisions! I have learned that collaborative environments where the needs of everyone are met or exceeded support people in finding fulfilling lives and careers. I now work to inspire and coach people in business, entrepreneurs, retirement and health care professionals who want to develop their business skills and fulfilling lives, while developing strategies to reduce their stress and learn that anything is possible.
As an active cyclist, skier, mountaineer and Hatha Yoga instructor, I believe in keeping fit, maintaining an active lifestyle and finding a healthy work and life balance. One of my travel interests is guiding groups to parts of the world they might not be familiar with – Nepal, India, Bhutan, Tibet and Norway!
